LiveLung

New to the lung cancer world? Please visit our sister site, LiveLung, a Lung Cancer Community web portal chock-full of lung cancer news, resources and information. LiveLung was created to support, serve and strengthen the lung cancer community in the following ways:

  • Educate the public about lung cancer;
  • Help those newly diagnosed navigate through available resources;
  • Provide information about lung cancer to patients and their loved ones;
  • Unite volunteers with other lung cancer nonprofits;
  • Encourage early detection of lung cancer, and much more.

Go to www.LiveLung.org.

While there, we encourage you to get connected with one of the lung cancer organizations listed. There are many worthy organizations that really need your help, including this one.

The organizations featured on LiveLung may or may not collaborate amongst themselves, but their work contributes immensely to the movement. Each has an instrumental part. One is best known for legislative advocacy leadership. Another sounds the warning for early lung cancer detection and screening. A third primarily focuses on medical research. Yet all champion lung cancer legislative advocacy, early detection and research, as well as complementary initiatives of the other lung cancer nonprofits.

There are distinctions in each organization's mission statement, priorities and function. Yet each mission is noble. And, yes, in some ways they compete--like sibling rivalry--for necessary donor funding and volunteers that allow them to accomplish their missions.

So please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the organization that best matches your passion. Get involved. We need you. As you'll see, you need us, too. And, please, be patient with us as we try to manage this community site.
